Gratitude:
20 hours of flights, 3 transfers and 2 delays and the word that screamed in my mind was gratitude. I arrived in Türkiye absolutely exhausted. Sifu Caner, our host, was eager to take me straight from the airport to Haci Bektasi's shrine, something i expressed alot of interest in seeing. I felt terrible asking to be taken straight to my hotel as i felt near passing out from the combination of post flu fatigue, the heat and dehydration. We arrive at the hotel, I greet everyone at the pool and excuse myself to slam a liter of water and crash.
I see everyone at dinner and apologize if i was rude. I run into my Si-Fu, Emin Boztepe at the Buffet line (food was amazing) and he hugs me and asks how i am dealing with the jetlag. My first words were:
"Thank you so much. We were struggling on the flights over and all we kept saying to each other is how you did this EVERY weekend for YEARS to come and teach even a handful of us." he shared his appreciation of our gratitude and that there were weeks where he would fly into 3 countries, no rest. straight from the airports to teaching for 45+ years!

I was very thankful to have made it to Turkiye safely. I was very thankful to have been greeted so warmly by my Brothers there and I was very thankful for my SiFu's efforts over his career and in building an amazing organization for me to find and become a part of.
